About the event
Join the Poplar Bluff Trails Coalition in partnership with the US Forest Service, Mark Twain National Forest for a trail maintenance workday on the Eagle Bluff Trail.
We will be logging out down trees, cutting brush from the trail corridor, installing diamond blazes on trees and leaf blowing the trail tread. Training and tools are provided.
The Eagle Bluff Trail is a 2-mile multi-use trail located in the Markham Springs Recreation Area. It offers scenic views of the Black River atop a large bluff and has multiple access points within the recreation site.
We will meet in the second parking lot within the recreation area. There are two gravel parking lots on both sides of the road into the site. Look for a white USFS pickup truck.
Wear long pants, a long sleeve shirt, sturdy boots and bring eye protection. Volunteers will be required to sign paperwork stating they read and understand a US Forest Service job hazard analysis.
