The Poplar Bluff Trails Coalition (PBTC) recently finalized its volunteer trail workday schedule for the months of September through December 2021. Essential trail maintenance work will occur on trail systems including the Victory Section of the Ozark Trail, Wappapello Section of the Ozark Trail, Wolf Creek Trail System, Eagle Bluff Trail, University Forest Conservation Area trails and on the nearly 20 miles of multiple-use trail at Lake Wappapello State Park. To accomplish this work, PBTC will partner with the US Forest Service, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Backcountry Horsemen of Missouri, Ozark Trail Association and City of Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation, among other groups. Specific workday details including trail segments to be worked on, meeting locations and more will be posted at www.poplarblufftrails.org/upcoming-events and on PBTC's Facebook and Instagram social media channels in advance of each outing. Additional workdays will be scheduled for new trail construction at Bacon Memorial Park in September.
